Still on the quest to find a really good burger that holds its shape and doesn’t fall apart from the first bite.
It’s also gotta be dense and satisfying as well as tasty.
This black bean and beet burger certainly hit the spot!
Not too much beetroot so it wasn’t overly earthy and the black beans gave it a nice texture as well as plenty of protein.
We tried some beetroot-based burgers back in February (check it here) but we think these are way better - both for taste and texture.
The earlier ones used finely chopped mushrooms and crushed walnuts - whereas these use black beans to give it a savoury-tasting bite.
A bit of fine-tuning and we think these babies will be on the menu.
Great served with some smoky aubergine bacon, rocket, maybe a few pickles and whatever sauce is your favourite.
We’re developing more burger ideas in the coming weeks so stay tuned :)!
