Mushroom magic

We've been trying to perfect a really good burger. We've tried a lot of different ideas. But Sam came up with this simple and tasty burger and we think it's a winner!

 

 

 

Instead of making a patty in the usual way (it's often hard to get the texture right and to make sure the burger stays in shape and doesn't turn to mush...) he got a big old field mushroom, marinated it (marinade secret for now ;) and used the whole thing as the 'burger'.

 

With the usual smoked 'cheese', relish, sliced tomato, fresh rocket and seasoning served on a pseudo brioche bun with some crispy onion rings – its awesome!

 

We tried to get some other juicy ingredients in there too - but it didn't really need it. And anyway - there wasn't mush-room.

 

We'll keep you posted with our burger journey and when we have our favourites we'll post a top five (with recipes) for you to enjoy.
